Man,
también conocido como Yip Man, (1 de
octubre de 1893 - 2 de diciembre de 1972), fue un artista marcial chino de Cantón, y maestro de Wing Chun Kung Fu. Tuvo varios
estudiantes que luego se convirtieron en maestros de artes marciales por
derecho propio. Su alumno
más famoso fue Bruce Lee.
Ip Man (film)
Ip
Man
es una película biográfica de artes marciales de 2008 basada en la vida de Ip Man, un gran maestro del arte marcial
Wing Chun y maestro de Bruce Lee. La película se centra en los
acontecimientos de la vida de Ip Man que
supuestamente tuvieron lugar en la ciudad de Foshan durante la Guerra
Sino-Japonesa.

mundo y a la sociedad en su conjunto. Creía en ciertas costumbres y principios,
y queremos usar esta película como una plataforma para transmitir esos valores
a la audiencia. Para mí, esa fue la parte más importante de hacer esta película”.

Man
es la primera de una serie de películas. Se estrenó en Beijing en 2008 y fue aclamada por críticos y audiencias. Ip Man 2 fue estrenada en 2010, Ip Man 3 en 2015, con una cuarta parte a
ser lanzada en 2019.

Guerra Sino-Japonesa fue un conflicto militar que se libró principalmente
entre la República de China y el Imperio de Japón desde el 7 de julio de
1937 hasta el 2 de septiembre de 1945. Comenzó con el Incidente del Puente Marco Polo en 1937 en el cual una disputa
entre japoneses y las tropas chinas se convirtió en una batalla. Algunas

Mike Tyson – tell about working together – Ip Man 3 – choreograph fighting -
—I just watch
you on screen. You´re a beast, man. Awesome! How did you get involved with this
project and working these two styles together?
—I don´t know.
I´m the accident to do this movie and when they said “what do you think about
it?” I said: “yes.” And then I called my friend who introduced me to this man
probably 20 years ago, and said “Hey, listen. I´m in the movie. I´m in the
movie” “Get out of here.” He couldn´t believe it. He could be here tonight. And
that is so ironic that someone introduced me so long now. It´s so crazy. I
can´t think about this now.
— It´s awesome. With you it´s kind of grown with
the character. How much of the story are you as an actor and telling the story?
—Well, as you
know this character is based on a real person, Bruce Lee´s teacher. But the
very first installment we did, we did it 8 years ago, the director and
scriptwriter decided to not to follow exactly the history past because we
didn´t want to make a documentary out of that. We wanted to create a new type
of hero on film. Especially these types of martial arts films, heroic films,
usually when you have a hero, the hero preaches what he believes, whether his
philosophies in life or a particular martial art. We didn´t want to do that.
This character in particular, all he cares about is his family, just wanted to
live by his simple life and move on but of course a story is a story. I had
problems at the beginning, the very first installment. The very first two weeks
because I didn´t know how to portray this character. You know, I had to kind of
create this character but without disrespecting the family of this real person.
Eight years later I became part of the character and adding on my own personal
in life view because I believe an actor, when you play the role, you actually
bring in your own life experience and I´m 8 years older. I´m more mature and I feel
that in this third installment I actually put a lot more maturity into the
character.
—You guys face off in one of the coolest scenes
I´ve ever seen. How do you guys mix those two? How do you prepare as a boxer to
do on screen and actually not to kick…?
—I had a good
teacher. He choreographed it good. He went over and over it again and it came
out awesome for what people told for I haven´t seen it. Two days ago I was in
Brooklyn and they saw the fight thing. It was wonderful. I can´t wait to see it
again.
—He was
life-threatening.
—Yes, I know.
What punches!
—When I found
out that Mike was invited and he said yes. He accepted our invitation into this
part of the franchise, you know, I was really thrilled and excited. Number one I´ve
always been a big fan of Mike, watched everything of him on film. And I said to
myself “finding Mike Tyson would be historical”. I prepared myself. I said to
myself, not to disrespect you, “what if he doesn´t remember the choreography?”
If he comes here sort of, you know, one, two, three, because I´d be dead, you
know. That´s it. It´s was enjoyable but at the same time it was truly
life-threatening.
