Jacqueline

… then you
realize those were the happiest times of my life. It was when we were the
closest…
I was always a
liability to him. Everybody thought I was a snob…
Jacqueline Kennedy: In Her Own Words
Never-before-heard
interviews reveal how JFK felt about the Cuban missile crisis.
They were some of the most romanticized couples in
America. They were marriage, always hidden behind the curtains of “Camelot”.
—Jack was young…
It was at a dinner party. She was a photographer for
the society pages of a newspaper. She was dazzled by him.
—Jack was one of
the unselfish person I’ve ever seen… He could naturally be attractive in a crowd
or a room.
—It´s funny. I
used to worry about going into the White House. I´d be a goldfish, all the
secret service, and then you realize those were the happiest times of my life.
It was when we were the closest…
—I was always a
liability to him. Everybody thought I was a snob, a buffoon, the hair, the French
clothes. I hated politics. He knew I was being myself, and I did like staying
in the background and I think he appreciated that in a wife. And he married me really
for the things I was.
—I think the
woman always adapt, and especially if she´s young, unformed, you become the
kind of wife your husband wants.
—I think it´s so
good to be able to forgive quickly. I know that´s a quality that Jack liked in
me…
She tried not to ask questions about the troubles of
the day but remembers one time she asked about Vietnam.
—It was at the
end of the day and he said “Oh, my God. I had that all day”. And I had been
swimming at the pool so I sort of changed into a happy evening mood…
But the woman who started out so shy would ultimately
find her voice.
—We so cherish
the language and the emotions that unite us all.
Dazzling other countries of the world on behalf of
America, becoming one of the political stars.
—I´m the man who
accompany Jacqueline Kennedy up to the paradise. And I´ll enjoy that.
Para
saber
[…] Nunca volverá a ser así”.
