Jaclyn Smith
Farrah
Fawcett fue diagnosticada con cáncer en 2006 y
murió 3 años después a los 62 años. Jaclyn

Cancer
specialist Dr. Lawrence Piro was
treating Fawcett in L.A. He and Fawcett's friend—Angels
co-star Kate Jackson, a breast cancer
survivor—appeared together on The Today
Show. They dispelled tabloid-fueled rumors, including suggestions that Fawcett had ever been in a coma, had
ever dropped to 86 pounds, and had ever given up her fight against the disease
or lost the will to live. Jackson decried such fabrications, saying
they "really do hurt a human being and a person like Farrah." Piro
recalled when it became necessary for Fawcett
to undergo treatments that would cause her to lose her hair, acknowledging
"Farrah probably has the most
famous hair in the world", but also that it is not a trivial matter for
any cancer patient, whose hair "affects [one's] whole sense of who [they]
are".

Jaclyn Smith Remembers Farrah Fawcett's Final 6 Months
Jaclyn Smith
remembers her friendship to Farrah
—We remained
closed throughout. There were these high points in our lives where we were
always together but I think at the end of her life when she was fighting her
battle with cancer we became very close. She said to me one day I wouldn’t have
missed this time with you. That last 6 months was a very close time for us. To
see someone fight a battle like that was beautiful.
—Do you remember
the last time you saw her?
—I do. She´d
come for dinner and she wanted some high heels that I had and I said “let´s go
to the closet and I’ll order them for you or you can have mine”. “No, you keep
those and I want new ones”. Because she was just funny. Farrah was funny.
My mother got
ill at the same time and when my mother was in the hospital and Farrah had
passed away I said “Mom, she goes”. “You go to the funeral”. I don´t know, this
is sort of hard to talk about. So I did get on the plane but when I landed I got
a call that mom had to draw back and been put on a respirator so I did not get
to go to her funeral, but I think in my heart of hearts I knew Farrah
understood because she was close to her mom and she knew.
My assistant of
many years, Alana, wrote me something, and I shouldn’t even say it because it
will make me cry. They´re everywhere and they’re nowhere but they´re there. And
it´s beautiful because that´s true. They´re here.

—Estuvimos cerca.
Me dijo “no
—Claro. Ella había venido a cenar y quería unos
