Karen
Lynn Gorney (nacida en 1945) es conocida por
interpretar papeles en varios programas de televisión y películas, incluida la
telenovela All My Children y la
película Saturday Night Fever.
Gorney nació en Beverly Hills,
California. Su familia es judía. Obtuvo una
licenciatura en Bellas Artes de
Carnegie Mellon University y de la Universidad
de Brandeis.
Gorney
hizo su debut en el cine en David and
Lisa (1962). Su siguiente trabajo en la pantalla grande llegó en 1970 con
la película The Magic Garden of Stanley
Sweetheart. De 1970 a 1974, Gorney
interpretó el papel de Tara Martin en
la telenovela All My Children.
En 1977, Gorney
coprotagonizó su tercera película, y el papel más importante hasta la fecha,
como Stephanie Mangano en Saturday Night Fever, junto a John Travolta. Al año siguiente,

Después de un largo receso, durante el cual dirigió
una galería de arte en Manhattan, Nueva
York, Gorney finalmente volvió a
actuar a principios de la década de 1990, apareciendo en pequeños papeles en
películas como The Hard Way (1991), Ripe (1996) y Creating Karma (2006), y volviendo a All My Children durante 1995
en cameos. Más recientemente, ha aparecido como invitada en varios programas de
televisión, incluyendo Law & Order,
The Sopranos y Six Degrees, así como en películas independientes y programas fuera
de Broadway.
Debido a su conexión con la música disco y su papel
popular en Saturday Night Fever, ha

—How did this
movie change your life?
—Definitely it
started me dancing again because I had stopped because of some injuries. I
didn´t have a choice, I had to dance because I needed the job. It started the
whole deal, studying ballet.
—What do you do
these days? I mean this movie is so iconic. I´m sure everybody identifies you
with this one but you´ve done so much, so many things after that.
—Well, the main
thing is that I have to go to a disco ball in Atlantic City
—This Saturday.
—This Saturday
at the Trump Plaza, the … are gonna be there and 12 different original acts.
—This is at the
Trump Taj Mahal, this Saturday, 7 o´clock. Are there tickets still available?
—Yes.
—What is it? Is
it a music event? Is it a dancing event?
—It is a healing
event.
—What are you
gonna do there?Are you gonna dance?
—Well, I´ll
probably dance. We´ll have the original floor. Bruno is really the star of the
evening, the producer of the whole thing and they have the original floor. And
it´s going to be in front of the stage…
—Can you fall if
you get trap?
—Honey, you have
no idea. The fact that we can dance on that floor and that I could dance on
those heels. It´s an act of God.
—Can you dance
like that still?
—I think I´m
better but I don´t know.
—The movie
changed everything. It really changed American culture. And you were part of
it. So it´s so great to see you in person. And this sound like a great event…
