Para saber
The Mid-Atlantic accent is a cultivated accent of English blending together prestigious American and British English ways of speaking. Adopted in the early 20th century mostly by American aristocrats and actors, it is not a native vernacular or regional American accent. Primarily fashionable in the first half of the 20th century, the accent was embraced in private independent preparatory schools, especially by members of the Northeastern upper class, as well as in schools for film and stage acting. The accent's overall use sharply declined following the Second World War.

Tony Curtis gives the profile of his idol, Cary Grant
Tony Curtis speaks about Cary Grant – expresses admiration – his movies – his reason for being an actor

I first fell in love with Cary Grant when I was a kid in Manhattan. I saw him on the screen and I wanted to be just like him. Look at the way he walks into the room. He´s so… Look at the way he wears his clothes. I´ve never seen a man like that, not around where I lived. So Cary was important to me because he showed me how to be a man. He was cool, clever, and cunning with all those good looking ladies in the world.

That voice. I had no idea people talked like that.
What a way to say I love you! I love you my darling. That´s class.
Cary played a lot of American men in films and no one ever questioned his accent because it´s universal but it had a … to it. And all of his words were carefully pronounced.

And when I saw everyone of Cary´s movies and in all of them he was never quite the same. In Bringing up Baby he had that little shuffle that was running through the picture following Katherine Hepburn around. That was a specific movement on his part and it matched the pace of the film.

Cary was one of the first handsome leading men who wasn´t above being made a fool of in a movie.
He always gave what he felt was important for a picture.

I observed all that without him even knowing about it. It became a way of life for me who absorbed the qualities of the man. His style, his sophistication, his gritty.

I even joined the Navy because of Cary Grant in Destination Tokyo. I was 16 years old when he looked through that periscope at Tokyo bay. It took my breath away.

I became an actor because I admired Cary Grant. I even played him in Some Like it Hot. As the woman Josephine I did some Grace Kelly and my mom and as Joe the musician I played myself out of New York City. (3, 03 minutes)
