“Boxing has found in Max Baer the kind of fighter who can bring the game back to the old days—the days when big men fought to knock each other out...So I believe that boxing's comeback now rests right on Baer's shoulders. He is only 24 years old, he's the biggest, strongest man fighting today, and he hits with terrible power.” Jack Dempsey

—Champion boxer Max Baer is beaten twice in great succession, once by Braddock in the ring and once by Cupid through the ring. Here he is with his wife after the ceremony and does he look pleased.
—Well, I´m gonna tell you I feel one of the happiest fellows in the world. I´ve been called a playboy, a nightclub boy, having a great time. I really want to tell you I’m really serious this time. My second defense I´m gonna do my best to make it to do what I would call the grand success. And I hope I will make her love me just one half of what I am going to love her. God bless you.

Vocabulario
A socialite is a person (usually from a wealthy or aristocratic background) who plays a prominent role in high society. A socialite spends a significant amount of time attending various fashionable social gatherings.
American members of the Establishment, or an American "society" based on birth, breeding, education, and economic standing, were originally listed in the Social Register, a directory of the names and addresses of the "preferred social contacts" of the prominent families in the 19th century. In 1886, Louis Keller started to consolidate these lists and package them for sale.
Traditionally, wealth or fame have been insufficient for inclusion in the Social Register; Kim Kardashian and Gloria Vanderbilt were never listed and Donald Trump, prior to his election as President of the United States, was also not included. A 1985 article reported that "enrollees need plenty of green (money), blue (blood), and lily white".
