Kimo Leopoldo

Kimo Leopoldo (born 4 January 1968) is a retired American mixed martial artist and actor. He made his MMA debut at UFC 3 in 1994 losing to Royce Gracie by submission.
Leopoldo was born in Munich to an American father of Irish and Polynesian descent and a German mother of Jewish descent. Four months after he was born his family moved to Hawaii. Leopoldo was a natural athlete growing up, playing football, wrestling, and he also had an interest in surfing. Leopoldo was a dominant wrestler at Waianae High School and played on the team that won the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Championship. Leopoldo was also a very talented middle linebacker in football, and attended the University of Washington on a partial athletic scholarship, but he was unprepared for college, and returned to Hawaii shortly after.
Leopoldo has worked since 1996 as an actor in independent productions. He starred in the direct to video production R.I.O.T.: The Movie and the films The Process, The Dog Problem, In the Closet, Bullet and Avengers Grimm.
Kimo is well known for his Christian beliefs: he sports many religious tattoos, and entered the arena at UFC 3 carrying a large cross on his back.

Kimo Leopoldo Holds a Press Conference about rumors of his life (2: 48)

I just want to thank you all for your time, your concern, and allow me the opportunity to disprove (= dispel) rumors, some reports about my dead earlier today. I was actually woken up at around noon this morning by my promoter that I was deceased sometime early this morning, due to a heart failure of some sort. I stand alive here and in person to reassure my condition and health to friends, family and fans, you know. With deep sorrow I want to apologize, you know, to my fans and my family. My loved ones who were affected, hurt, by these rumors, you know.
I also want to let them know that I had nothing to do. My name, the origin of these rumors was not by me, by some gimmick that we put together or something like that. So I want to make sure that they all know that too, because some who are angry with me.
Right here is evidence, the proof of the power of the media, the influence the media has and also that it´s been accountable and responsible with the reporting.
Throughout my whole career I have been unjustly represented by the media. I´ve been… put certain labels on me, drug addict, you know. Now they said I’m dead. All these things are not true but I don’t have the ability to go to every single person and convince them of the stories. And not just that. They fail to tell the facts, the truth. The truth of the story. They put their own opinions in there and that´s not the correct picture. Reading it, you know, the public is not seeing the truth. What´s really happening, you know.
I actually was with a friend of mine and I don´t want to give up her name right now but as I said I was sleeping so I was unaware of any of it until my promoter let me know so I´ve wanted to come here and straighten it out quickly. The momentum of this is amazing. It´s bad enough what it is about me but when you do something like this and it affects loved ones, and my fans and my friends. Now it´s starting to get to other people. And it´s sad.

Vocabulario
Gimmick: A gimmick is a novel device or idea designed primarily to attract attention or increase appeal, often with little intrinsic value. Gimmicks are occasionally viewed negatively, but some seemingly trivial gimmicks of the past have evolved into useful, permanent features.
The origin of the term, "gimmick", is uncertain. Etymologists suggest that the term emerged in the United States in the early twentieth century. The Oxford Dictionary suggests that it may have originally been a slang term for something that a con artist or magician manipulated to make appearances different from reality and gradually changed its meaning to refer to any ‘piece of magicians' apparatus’. The word itself may be an approximate anagram of the word magic. Another possible origin is that it may have come into use among the gaming tables, where it came to refer to "a device used for making a fair game crooked". The term first appeared in American newspapers in the 1910s and 1920s.

Questions
There are certain questions we would like to ask Kimo:
Do you have children?
Have you been married?
When did you leave the MMA?
How did you start in the movie industry?
